Southwest FL Proton
Indigo is proud to have designed the Southwest Florida Proton Oncology Center, bringing advanced proton beam therapy to the West Coast of Florida — one of only three centers in the state. Proton therapy delivers a precise beam of protons directly to tumors, minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue and providing patients with a highly effective, less invasive treatment option.
A major milestone was achieved in December 2024 with the arrival of the Proteus One machine — one of only 45 in the world. Shipped from Belgium, the machine was carefully lowered through a custom roof hatch using a crane, marking the culmination of nearly five years of planning. The final phase, an 11-month assembly and testing period, will prepare the center for patient treatment.
As the project’s architects, Indigo focused on blending cutting-edge technology with a healing, patient-centered environment. The center sets new standards in healthcare design and embodies our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and compassionate care — creating a facility that will stand as a beacon of hope for years to come.
